The movie starred by Satoshi Ohno opens with a bang making it a contender for Japan's number 1 live action film this year. Toho expects 'Kaibutsu-kun' to draw in a huge crowd during the winter vacation and rake in around ￥500M.
This year, 'GANTZ' (top billed by Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya) earned around ￥340M while 'SP Kakumei Hen' (top billed by V6's Junichi Okada) earned around ￥330M. Japan's movie industry seems to be getting much of its strength from Johnny's artists.
Today, the cast of 'Kaibutsu-kun' heads to TOHO Cinemas in Roponggi Hills to hold a meet and greet event. Ohno says "All I did this year was 'Kaibutsu-kun'". They started filming on January and it took them about 2 months to finish shooting the film. Promotions started on the last week of July. The movie opened on Ohno's 31st birthday. "I will never forget this for the rest of my life." he said. Fujiko Fujio (the creator of Kaibutsu-kun) also made a surprise appearance during the event. He made a handwritten message that says "Saikou da!" (the best!).
TAGALOG NAMAN! ^^,
(The best!).
My Own Thoughts
I'm really so happy for Arashi! ^_^ A member's success is like the group's success anyway right? I just wish it'll still be a good year for them next year.
